I have recently taken up a class in print making. Alma from Pangolin Prints in Newlands is a wealth of knowledge, and an wonderful teacher. She gently guides and inspires.
Here are monoprint portraits I did of my amazing friend Thandi, who it seems features in a few of my up coming projects, so I guess its best I call her what she is. A muse. The image is based on a portrait I took of her when she did make up for a shoot with Ora for Boogie Boutiques.

Rollei 35

Somehow I managed to find in my possession a mint condition Rollei 35. Earlier this year at B&H I asked them about the history and the very first camera I saw in their mini museum is the Rollei 35.
The Rollei 35 is a 35mm miniature viewfinder camera built by Rollei. The original Rollei 35, when introduced at Photokina in 1966, was the smallest existing 135 film camera. Still today, the Rollei 35 series remain the second smallest 35 mm camera after the Minox 35. In 30 years, about 2 million Rollei 35 series cameras were manufactured.
Here are a few Ilford black and white images I took with it in the States, and at home, in Sea Point.

Point, shoot, dont pollute
I've been jumping from camera to camera and haven't finished the film in my Nikon FM2 since last year. Its amazing to see the content I like the most is mainly nature and portraits over the months... Love me some nature.
Keep it clean kids, i need it to keep me snapping!
Petite Noir shoot in Rolling Stone
I recently shot Yannick Illunga aka Petite Noir for a pitch for Rolling Stone SA. It was with my dear friend and writer extrodinaire Phumlani Pikoli (the glue of Andiles Bored Company). We've teamed up for a few things on Mahala and always have the best time. Today the latest Rolling Stone was released with two pictures of mine in it, one being a full page. I can't tell you what a bucket list tick this is for me.
It was done pretty impromptu, and we did it in the house. Using both digital and film, natural and tungsten lights. A ladder, rolls of fabrics two pieces of wood and Phumlani were the key elements in the set up, which you can see at the bottom picture (one of my favorites).
Here to many more ticks on the list and shoots with wonderful humans!

One film to few
Some of these images are from the Petite Noir shoot (more to come) with Phumlani. Follow the link and listen/watch his music. Honestly, hes the next wonderful thing thats about to pop out of this
continent.
Th rest are from about town. The waterfront, Lions head and the indoor picnic on Sunday. Most of the images I cant post because they have the friendlies getting intoxicated on unmentionables (#420NO)
