Serisha's tattoo

I love these words inked into my good friend Serisha's wrist...
Going to miss her at Touchlab!

This photo was taken about a year ago in New Zealand with a 1920s medium format camera at Mount Hut. The concept of home is really interesting to me having my family on the other side of the world. They say home is where the heart is and our buddy Bob  Marley says its within yourself.  I like to think its where my clothes are... but its not always as simple as that is it. Mainly because most of my clothes have been nicked by Lani Spice.

A little further then down under

The past few weeks has had its fair share of beautiful sights, amazing friends, long Skype calls, bucket loads and feelings and free grapefruit. New Zealand is, well, a journey. Iv decided (probably after I booked a ticket home and got a call 15 minutes later with a job interview) that I'm just going to take this adventure one day at a time. It always is a little easier with a camera ...

Doing as they do

I spent my first weekend in New Zealand away on the west coast. To sum it up, New Zealand is exactly what you would expect if you're a fan of Lord of the Rings. Beautiful. Epic. Lush. Isolated. What you don't see from the movie is that it's beyond freezing. When I arrived the temperature was 0; which to me is like it doesn't even exist!

Here are some photos I took on a walk through the forests. I have to give it to the people here. On days most of us Capetonians would take a day off, watch re-runs of Tyra and over dose on hot chocolate, most of the population is out in full force 'camping and tramping'. I got a taste of this when we drove for an hour to watch a blow hole in the rain. (a concept I will never get used to).

I took these while listening to Minatorshock...

Comments would be loved!
