I spent my first weekend in New Zealand away on the west coast. To sum it up, New Zealand is exactly what you would expect if you're a fan of Lord of the Rings. Beautiful. Epic. Lush. Isolated. What you don't see from the movie is that it's beyond freezing. When I arrived the temperature was 0; which to me is like it doesn't even exist!
Here are some photos I took on a walk through the forests. I have to give it to the people here. On days most of us Capetonians would take a day off, watch re-runs of Tyra and over dose on hot chocolate, most of the population is out in full force 'camping and tramping'. I got a taste of this when we drove for an hour to watch a blow hole in the rain. (a concept I will never get used to).

So lovely. I like the use of the circled frames. Adds an eerieness to the picturess. Having been to NZ, I know what you mean about it being isolated and I think you've captured it beautifully. xxx
